Since the relaxation of COVID-19 lockdown in Nigeria, there have been series of accidents across the country which have claimed so many lives including that along Ikom-Calabar highway in Cross River State.
PARADISE NEWS gathered that at least 11 persons died in the fatal accident involving a white Toyota Hiase Bus with registration number: EDA28X.
The accident which occurred on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at Njagachang road by Mbarakom-Awi axis in Akampka local government area of the state, also left about two people injured.
Various sources said the driver was on high speed with not less than 14 passengers on board.

A good Samaritan, Albert Asuquo, who resulted in helping the accident victims said that the accident occurred at about 10:00am.
Speaking on the incident, Asuquo said: “The accident that occurred this morning claimed 11 lives while two sustained injuries. The injured passengers were taken to the General Hospital in Akampka for treatment.

“The 11 people that died were also taken to the same hospital. It was a tragedy, now that people are trying to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic”.
