Bangladesh, Nigeria to Sign MoU on Institutional Linkage, Collaborative Partnership

The High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Nigerian, Md. Shameem Ahsan, has expressed hope that the National Library of Nigeria, Abuja and Central Public Library of Bangladesh could explore possibilities of signing a Memorandum of Understanding MoU/Agreement on institutional linkage/collaborative partnership in the future, to create greater understanding between the peoples of the two countries.

Md. Shameem Ahsan, made this known,  when he met with Prof. Lenrie O. Aina, National Librarian/CEO of the National Library of Nigeria, in Abuja, October 9, 2020, as a part of the on-going public diplomacy drive of the Mission.

During an interactive session,  the High Commissioner briefed on Bangladesh and on the growing bilateral relationship in the presence of the senior officials of the National Library.

He mentioned that MoUs on cooperation in the fields of education and culture, among others, are expected to be signed soon between Bangladesh and Nigeria.

Furthermore, he handed a good number of  books on the war of liberation, history, culture, economy and development journey of Bangladesh. The Publications included, among others; Memoir written by the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the Mission’s recent publication to mark the birth centenary of Bangabandhu. 

For his part, Prof. Aina  appreciated the gesture of the Mission, and also shared some valuable publications/materials of the Library.  

Mr. Bidosh Chandra Barman, First Secretary of the Mission accompanied the High Commissioner.
