The immediate past governor of Gombe state, Dr. Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo (Talban Gombe) was in Zaria Wednesday on a condolence visit over the death of the Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Shehu Idris.
Dankwambo was accompanied on the visit by the former governor of Kaduna state, Dr. Mukhtar Ramalan Yero (Dallatun Zazzau), former member, House of Representatives, Hon. Ali Isa JC, Amb. Wada Sadiq and his former Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dahiru Hassan Kera, among others.
Dankwambo described the late emir as a person of proven integrity and a first class traditional ruler who ruled with absolute honesty and fear of Allah. He added that his death was a huge loss not only to Zaria emirate and Kaduna state but to the nation at large.
He prayed for Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jannatul Firdausi and his family the fortitude to bear the loss. The emir died on Sunday and has since been buried according to Islamic rites.
