FAAN collects N500 as gate pay in Adamawa
From Joseph Asegba, Yola
The Adamawa state Government has recently disassociated itself from unlawful extortion of funds from commuters by Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
The Management of Ministry of Works and Development under the leadership of Adamu Atiku Abubakar disclosed this on a statement made available to journalists through its information officer, Innocent Daniel Zira in Yola.
According to the commissioner, they want to inform the public that they are not aware and also happy about the tokens that commuters are paying at the gate of FAAN.”
It is with dismay for the information reaching them that FAAN is capitalising on the creation of the emergency road to extort N200 and above from commuters.
It would be recalled that the state government had made the provision when it started the flyover and under-fly projects in the state to easy traffic.
Meanwhile, a source very close to the authority told our correspondent that, that collections at that gate was not to the knowledge of the authority and it has disassociated itself from took place, even it an income, the authority should aware, it is only that of the airport gate that is authorized.
