Nasarawa Assembly passes N112.92bn 2021 Appropriation Bill Into Second Reading

Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has referred 2021 budget proposal of N112. 92 billion to its house committee on finance and Appropriation to work on it and report back on 14th December, 2020.

The State Assembly took the decision after the Appropriation bill scaled through second reading during plenary in Lafia.

Speaker, Ibrahim Balarabe-Abdullahi announced the passage of the budget into second reading after Hon. Tanko Tunga moved a motion for the 2021 appropriation bill to scale second Reading.

Balarabe Abdullahi, said that the passage of the budget into second reading was part of the House commitment in ensuring speedy passage of the bill to enable the state government execute developmental projects across the state and better the lives of the people.

The speaker committed the budget to the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation to work on it and present it’s report on December 14, 2020.

Earlier, majority leader Umar Tanko Tunga while giving substance of the bill said the budget was realistic and achievable considering how the allocations were fairly distributed on projects across all local government Areas in the state.

Tanko Tunga called on his colleagues to give the bill speedy passage to allow present administration to consolidate on the achievement recorded so far and do more for the state.

Other lawmakers who contributed, described the twenty twenty one budget as an all inclusive in view of how all sectors and ongoing projects were given due consideration

The House unanimously passed the 2021 appropriation bill into second reading after receiving inputs from members.

It would be recalled that  on Nov. 17, 2020 Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, has presented the 2021 budget proposal of N112. 92 billion to the state House of Assembly for consideration and approval.
