NURTW appeals for road renovation

The chairman of Yobe State branch of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Bulama Kaku Ali has appealed to the Federal and state governments to repair the roads in the country.
He said, most of the accidents on our High Ways, seven out of 10 occurred due to bad roads.
“We are appealing to the federal and state governments to look into the conditions of our roads in the country and repair them,” he said.
The chairman made the call while speaking to newsmen in his office in Damaturu.
He said the call became necessary due to the bad condition of the roads in the country.
According to him, the union has achieved a lot in the state, revealing that there is a good and cordial relationship between the NURTW in the state and the state government.
The chairman warned drivers to avoid reckless driving and over speeding, noting that such attitudes cause accident in which people loose their lives and property.
He commended Governor Buni for the support being rendered to the union since assuming office on May 29, 2019.
